300 Winchester Magnum Brass – ADG manufactured brass is optimized not only for consistency in performance, but also for durability. One of the ways we accomplished this is by optimizing the material in specific areas to strengthen it. With the optimized material geometry, our brass will generally have a different case volume than most other manufacturer’s brass and therefore will require a different charge weight to achieve the same pressures and velocities. We recommend using a reputable load data source and working up from their recommended minimum starting loads.
We recommend reducing any existing charge weights by 10% and re-developing your specific load when replacing any component in a load recipe with a new component (brass, projectile, primer, or powder type). Failure to reduce charge weights established using other manufacturers brass may result in higher pressures and velocities while using ADG brass and may result in unsafe pressure levels.

After having to replace my stock, I decided to try ADG brass (March 2019). Surprisingly, I did not have to reduce my powder weight during the redevelopment test as recommended. However, the velocity increased 77 fps, and the best 3-shot group size improved to .17 inches at 100 yards. Yes, I know, ballistically, that doesn’t seem possible, but it is what it is. Shooting at 400 yards, the best 3-shot group thus far is 1.698 inches and is consistently under 2 inches. Not bad for an 18-year-old rife with the original barrel.
ADG brass is the best brass I’ve used thus far for my 300 Win Mag. Very well made and is so clean it doesn’t need any prep except maybe for trimming length. I’ve reloaded my first box of brass six times now and I anticipate many more uses. I strongly recommend ADG Brass for the serious shooter.
Bob –
I normally use Lapua brass for all the calibers I reload for that it is available. However, this brass is fully the quality of Lapua but with a thicker wall. I haven’t loaded these cases enough times yet to fully understand how case life will work out but it seems that it will ad a substantial number of times it can be reloaded. I’m able to get substantially higher velocities without pressure signs. So it looks to be superior even to Lapua brass at this time to me.
